How to set up your MIFF experience at home

There are a number of ways for you to guarantee you have an excellent MIFF 68½ experience from the comfort your home. Please take the time to settle in and test your setup prior to Opening Night to ensure you are ready to start streaming. Below is a list of setup options. Please chose the most appropriate for you.

Smart TV

Please connect to your smart TV using an HDMI cable, Chromecast or Apple TV. We strongly advise against attempting to use the pre-installed browser on your smart TV to stream MIFF 68½, as many devices are not inherently compatible with our software. Instead, please select one of the alternative ways to stream films from the list below.

HDMI

Open MIFF 68½ in your browser and connect your computer directly to your TV or projector using an HDMI cable. This will put the least strain on your home wi-fi to ensure you can stream at the highest possible quality*. We recommend using a Safari browser on a Mac or a Microsoft Edge browser on a PC. Chrome, Firefox and Opera are not currently supported due to temporary maintenance works.

Apple TV

Open MIFF 68½ in a Safari browser and AirPlay (via Apple TV) to your TV or projector. For further information on how to use AirPlay, visit Apple support.

Computer

Open MIFF 68½ in your browser and start streaming. We recommend using a Safari browser on a Mac or a Microsoft Edge browser on a PC. Chrome, Firefox and Opera are not currently supported.

Android tablet or phone

Open MIFF 68½ in your browser and start streaming. We recommend using a Microsoft Edge browser on your Android device or the MIFF 68 12 Android app. You can stream directly on your device, or Chromecast from your device to your TV or projector.

Chromecast

Chromecast must be accessed via the MIFF 68 12 Android app. For further information on how to use Chromecast, visit Google support. Chrome browsers are not currently supported due to temporary maintenance works.

Testing your setup

To give you a chance to test your setup prior to Opening Night, we have added the MIFF 68½ trailer to your library as a film. Once you have selected the most appropriate setup from the list of ways to stream, we recommend playing this trailer to ensure your devices are working as they should and your bandwidth is sufficient for your chosen setup.
